The Fz motor is light, elegant, powerful, and is the perfect
addition to your spectrum ST4. The Fz mounts easily to a 15 mm rail
system (yours if you have one, or add the optional integrated
Lplate). No new controller is required – just plug it in to the
spectrum’s M4 motor port and your focus is ready for live or
programmed moves coordinated with your other controlled axis. The
small form factor and light motors means you can add one or two of
our Fz motors to your spectrum system without creating a
eMotimo Fz & Lplate

I love the eMotimo Fz motor. It works great and is well made! I love that the gear sprocket can be located on either side of the motor. Nice addition to my Spectrum. The integrated Lplate, unfortunately, I am not that much of a fan. It's made of high quality material, but I just feel it wasn't thought out well enough. First, it doesn't come with 1/4-20 screw to mount the camera. Secondly, the slot for the screw doesn't vary in size so the screw keeps falling out of the bottom of the Lplate. Very annoying when packing or setting up. That damn screw seems to always get lost. Similar problem on the upward side of the Lplate. The slot doesn't account for cables that would be used for an intervalometer...so you have to slide the camera away from the Lplate (to the right) so that you have enough space to plug in your intervelometer cable....again because it won't fit through the hole/slot. Fortunately, the bottom bracket is long enough to slide the camera and therefore plug in the cable. I would definitely use another Lbracket but unfortunately, I have not found one that allows you to attach a single rail. eMotimo, I beg you, please redesign. I'll be the first to buy it.
11/17/2016 – Support the Fz cable also for the TB3 or other stepper controllers?
Response From eMotimo: Thanks for the question. The Fz is designed to work best with spectrum st4. We've tuned it specifically for spectrum to achieve fast speeds and high torque needed to get great results with a large variety of lenses. See http://emotimo.com/project/we-go-fast/ for more details on how spectrum is different than the TB3 and other controllers. That being said, in early January, our next round of Fz motors will have a variety of cables though that will enable you to plug into your TB3 or other 3rd party controller. We do expect lower top end speeds and lower top end torques compared to the spectrum, but in many cases when shooting timelapse this might not matter.
10/1/2016 – Hi there, does the integrated Lplate package comes with lens gear adapter for non-cine lenses?Would it be possible in the . . .
Response From eMotimo: The integrated LPlate doesn't come with any lens gear adapters for non-cine lenses. We might offer a select few on our site in the future, but there are so many flavors for different types of lenses, we didn't think there was a good universal solution. Many 0.8 Mod / 32 Pitch lens gear adapters will work. At the time of this writing, there were 85 of these on B&H https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?atclk=Gear+Pitch%2fMod_0.8+pitch+%28Film%2fCine%29&ci=18498&N=4028759305+4146250888The spectrum st4's is a 4 axis device. We can Pan/Tilt and do two more things with the integrated controller by plugging in to the M3 and M4 powered motors ports. Without the addition of another controller connected, to the spectrum, 4 axis is the limit.

Response From eMotimo: The spectrum can control 4 things, two of which are internal, the pan and tilt. We have the M3 and M4 motor port on the outside, each of which can control an external motor. Most people use slide for the M3 port, but if you wanted a Panning, Tilting, Zooming, Focus solution, you could do it. Control right now for the M3 is on the left joystick and control for the focus is on the triggers, but these controls will be configurable in the future. Since we have several analogue control inputs and lots of buttons (binary) on the controller, we have options. We aren't sure of the best Pan/Tilt/Zoom/Focus configuration yet, but we have options.
