Stunning, Can't Wait to see what future firmware brings
From Maddogs Television of Southampton, UK, United Kingdom on 5/18/2016.
This is a hell of a thing. If you've used the previous eMotimo products the PT or TB3 then the Spectrum ST4 will make sense to you, but if not, in a nutshell it's amazing. The previous models did timelapse really well and latterly added video support reasonably well. The Spectrum does timelapse and video equally well. The firmware is only in it's infancy at the moment, so 3 point moves, panoramas, and programmed video moves are a little way off. But the included timelapse mode works very well, and the use of the PlayStation buttons to set and define positions is very clever. As the firmware matures this product will get even better!Build wise, it's like a tank, solid with a robust feeling, it feels like something that can survive almost any environment you'll be working in. Top stuff!
Great for time lapse
From Michael Reynolds of Berkeley, California on 4/24/2016.
So far, I'm really enjoying my new Spectrum. Used my TB3 Black for years, but the Spectrum is clearly a step up in performance. A little pricey, but worth it. The new controller is great. The screen on the unit is a little small, but still readable. It integrates seamlessly with the Dynamic Preception slider. Still learning all of the vido functions. So far, Spectrum is meeting or exceeding my expectations.
Spectrum ST4 first impressions
From Peter McCabe of Los Angeles, California on 4/7/2016.
This products potential is just starting and the roadmap for all the great integration with video on top of the awesome timelapse functions will make this a stable in your story telling process.
6/4/2016 – Hi eMotimo guys,Curious if you can do re-creatable motions? i.e. Start at position A, slide 1 ft as you pan left 5 degrees . . .
Response From eMotimo: Sure can, Kevin. The spectrum is designed to repeat moves for VFX work. The process is to setup a programmed move, set you start points, end point, timing for the move, ramping, and go. When the move is complete you have the option to repeat, reverse, or reset. You can choose repeat and keep taking passes. In post line up your moves and then fade, cut or blend to switch or combine these passes. -the eMotimo guys
6/1/2016 – Any plans or eta for this to work with the rhino slider?
Response From eMotimo: Hi Brian, thanks for the question! We do have plans to create an adapter for the spectrum to work with the Rhino Evo sliders, although we do not have a delivery date for this just yet. When we have more details and are ready to announce the integration solution, we will post to our social media (https://www.facebook.com/emotimo/) and on our site (http://emotimo.com/). Thanks!
3/31/2016 – For those of us who have a TB3 and selection of non Emotimo stepper motors that work when plugged into the TB3, will you . . .
Response From eMotimo: Hi Andrew,Thanks for the question. If you have a stepper motor with replaceable cables that works with the TB3, the it should work with spectrum. You will just want to swap out your TB3 cable, with a spectrum motor cable, found here: http://store.emotimo.com/spectrum-stepper-motor-cables-p112.aspxThanks!
3/29/2016 – Regarding the remote control - super-cool that it's as simple as a wireless PS controller. But is it possible to connect . . .
Response From eMotimo: Hi Dan, Thanks for the question! At this time we are compatible with just the wireless Sony Dual Shock 4 Bluetooth Controller for PS4. If we release other options for controlling the spectrum we will share on our social media (https://www.facebook.com/emotimo/) and on our site: http://emotimo.com/I hope this is helpful. Thanks!
2/18/2016 – Hi, what 3rd motor for slider will be working with Spectrum? (I'm useing tb3 with Dp motors) Do You thinking about motor . . .
Response From eMotimo: Hi Jacek, thanks for the question! spectrum will integrate with a number of sliders and if you are using a TB3 and Stage 1 or 0 setup check out our FAQ spectrum section for more: https://emotimo.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/categories/201145193-eMotimo-spectrum. You will need to adjust for the pins in the motor if you sourced them from DP and we will provide more details surrounding that setup in the future but the short answer is yes if you are set up for the TB3 that rig will work with spectrum with a few modifications. For the 3rd and 4th motor port you will also be able to use a focus solution. We are working to deliver one and will announce more details around it soon.Let us know if there is anything else we can help you with by emailing us anytime at firstname.lastname@example.org, thanks!
